A BRONZE PLAQUETTE of a hunter, probably
Meleager, inspired by the antique, the naked young man
stands leaning on a spear, with two dogs at his feet,
framed by a column supporting a lintel to the left and a
tree growing on a rock to the right, a boar’s head fixed to
the lintel, 13′hin. by 9in. (34.2cm. by 22.8cm.) English(P),
late 18th Century, cracked.
AN ITALIAN BRONZE PAX, consisting of the Entombment, after Moderno, within an
architectural frame flanked by fluted columns, 6in.

AN ELECTRO-TYPE GILT COPPER BAPTISMAL BASIN, four plaques depicting the Annunciation, Adoration of the Shepherds, Crucifixion and Resurrection, set around a central plaque engraved with the arms of Johann Wilhelm, Count of Herberstein, on a background decorated with tracery and related verses from the bible in Latin and German, the rim with a continuous band of lion heads and shields within cartouches and tracery, 19in. diameter (48cm.) front rim and reverse made separately and held together by screws under the rim.
